Parade Proposal

The amount of thought that the bride’s friend Judy put into this collage still amazes me. When she gave me a call, she told me she wanted to have a collage done of her friend’s wedding. The couple had met in Montgomery, Minnesota and the husband-t0-be proposed at a local parade. Judy had collected photos of the couple as children, photos of them while dating, the newspaper article about the parade proposal and photos from the wedding. She asked me to take photos of the church they were married in as well as a billboard for Northwest Airlines that was owned by CBS Outdoor. The bride worked for CBS, the husband for Northwest Airlines.

Judy brought the bride along to pick up the final print. The collage had been a surprise, and as soon as the she saw it, tears began welling up in her eyes. The story of the couple’s lives, both separately and together, was told so well through imagery chosen by my client. It was an incredibly thoughtful gift that I was happy to be a part of.
